Choosing Faith in the Unseen
Updated: Aug 30

One of the hardest things I've had to learn is how to trust God when I don't understand Him.
It's easy to talk about faith when everything is going according to plan.
But what happens when you've prayed?
When you've believed?
When you've asked God for something with your whole heart...
and the answer doesn't look anything like what you hoped for?
That's where faith becomes real.
After experiencing loss, I've had moments when I've wondered, God, where were You in this?
I didn't always have a beautiful prayer.
Sometimes I had tears.
Sometimes I had anger.
Sometimes all I could say was, God, I don't understand.
And I've learned that He can handle that too.
Faith doesn't require pretending that something didn't hurt.
It doesn't mean we aren't allowed to question, grieve, or feel disappointed.
Sometimes faith sounds like:
“God, I don't understand what You're doing, but I'm choosing to believe You haven't forgotten me.”
And sometimes that's enough.
You may not be able to see what God is doing in this chapter of your life.
You may not understand why certain things had to happen.
You may still be waiting for answers that haven't come.
But an unfinished story is not a forgotten story.
There are things happening beyond what you can see.
So today, I'm choosing faith again.
Not because everything makes sense.
Not because everything feels good.
But because I've decided that even here, God is still God.
And if you're struggling to believe that today, you can borrow a little of my faith until yours feels strong again.
We don't have to see the entire road to trust the One walking it with us. 🤍
With love,
Alisha
